CK CALVIN KLEIN
FOR RAF SIMONS.
2017-2019
During Raf’s tenure at CK, I worked closely with Pieter Mulier, to create a synergy in CK CALVIN KLEIN product, to sibling the main 205 W39TH NYC collection. During this time the construct of the CK brand aesthetic was widely expanded, allowing for a super creative outlook on the re-imagining of the brand, under Raf’s vision as CCO.
CK CALVIN KLEIN
FOR KEVIN CARRIGAN
2007-2017
After a brief period away from Calvin Klein I was recruited to re-join the company. This time to work with global Creative Director Kevin Carrigan for CK Calvin Klein design, sold in South East Asia, Japan and Europe. My initial role of Senior Designer of knits and sweaters, expanded to becoming Design Director in 2012. Subsequently I managed a team of up to 16 people, approving design for Japan, Europe, Asia, CK Golf, CK Kids and CK Menswear.
CK COLLECTION
FOR FRANCISCO COSTA.
2003-2005
was recruited from the UK, to join the CK Collection team in NY, while Calvin Klein himself was still at the helm. After only a few short months, Calvin Klein sold the company and the creative mantle passed to Francisco Costa. As Senior Knitwear designer I was responsible for co-creating all knit and sweater concepts, swatches and garments, alongside the creative director and woven designers, for both seasonal catwalk shows and interim pre-collections.
DONNA KARAN
COLLECTION.
1999
My ornate sweater work was featured heavily in the 2000 Fall show and advertising campaigns, despite being only an intern at the time. The DK team had just introduced a beautiful innovative yarn spun with sequins, but could find no way to knit it into a viable product. With my in depth knitting knowledge, I was able to deconstruct parts of the domestic knitting machinery to create a fabric from the yarn that could be draped and used. Dress seen here on Milla Jovovich.
VYAYAMA
BY ALEXANDRA GLIBBERY
2016-Present
‘Active wear for a Calm Conscience’
VYAYAMA the sanskrit word ‘to move’, represents a fully sustainable selection of activewear, made from only plant-based cellulose fabrics. I created VYA from the desire to provide an option to petroleum, poly and nylon based workout clothes, that would not pollute the planet with micro-plastics. I am personally responsible for initial brand concept, all art direction, photo-shoots, brand aesthetic, fabric and production sourcing, design, fitting, social media planning, web site design and ongoing brand conversation. Sold globally in Selfridges, Equinox, Holt Renfrew, Barneys, Reve-en-Vert.
